British-Ghanaians: Lost in Transalation (Film)

British-Ghanaians: Lost in Transalation, dir Pamela Sakyi (2015)

An investigative documentary, hosted by British Ghanaian TV presenter Ortis Deley (The Gadget Show, Channel 5) who is on a quest to discover the root causes of dying Ghanaian languages, within the British Ghanaian community, in London.

Inspired by his own lack of fluency in a Ghanaian language, he addresses the harsh impending reality that current 2nd, 3rd and future generations of British Ghanaians face: they are at a high risk of losing touch with their languages, their cultural identity, heritage and history altogether.

Tickets for the series of events can be purchased via Eventbrite.

Tickets are £10 (£5 concs) and a limited number will be available on the door.

TESTIMONIALS

“When you're starting out it is hard to know when to take the leap out of cooking from your own home to paying rent. Maida Hill offered the flexibility my business needed in the early stages. The large combination oven and walk in fridge are fantastic... a dream come true after cooking at home”

Naomi, Lunchbox London
